Michael always felt an incessant need to write, and he gathered portfolios packed with poetry as a younger man, and storage bins full of promises through his working life. His career however, wondered its own separate way into the forests and mountains of British Columbia, where he practiced the art of silviculture (The planting and tending of new forests, especially post logging or fire). After a few years with the tree planting bags and shovel or a chainsaw, he became a contractor, where he planted over 20,000,000 trees (that’s twenty million!) around the Kelowna area over a quarter of a century. He studied the art of writing both in local workshops and courses, and in on-line Master Classes, polishing up with UBC courses “Outlining, Writing, and Revising the novel” on the EdX Platform. Then he poured his heart and soul into this first offering, “Riding the Clouds”, the first of the Problematica series.
